Absip Bursaries 2017 – 2018
The promotion of education and academic excellence is a key priority of ABSIP. In line with ABSIP’s admission statement, “To build leaders that shapes the future of the Financial Services industry and the broader economy”, ABSIP launched its bursary fund in 2013.
Absip Bursary Objectives
The ABSIP Bursary is aimed at financially supporting disadvantaged black students who have demonstrated academic excellence, a passion to pursue a career within financial services industry and be studying at any university in South Africa.
Through partnerships that ABSIP has forged with its corporate and individual members, funding has been secured to cover the university costs of such deserving students. ABSIP would like to thank the Standard Bank Group and all those who have made the initiative possible. We are also excited by the recent sponsorship commitment of Regiments Capital to support ABSIP and the student membership.
Who Should Apply?
The ABSIP bursary is only open to disadvantaged black students. The relevant course of study is commercial degree or a related discipline however a course of study that is considered critical or in short supply to the broader South African economy will also be considered. The bursary offers financial assistance based on academic merit and financial need.
It is with great excitement and pride that we congratulate Hanna Sibanda, ABSIP 2013 bursar, who has graduated from University of Witwatersrand with the BSc Honours in Actuarial Science.
